Successful Burn Injury Outcome
MM v. Doe
Ms. M went to a Halloween party in the backyard of defendant’s home. Both the guests and the hosts were drinking alcohol. At approximately 2:00 in the morning, the defendant decided to light a fire to keep the guests warm. The defendant put wood in a portable fire pit and located it near the guests. He doused the wood with a huge amount of accelerant and upon ignition, caused a large fireball. Ms. M was engulfed in flame. She was treated at Grossman Burn Center and made a great recovery.
